2010 Fall Show & Workshop

Suzanna Del Vecchio


Suzanna has been studying Orientale dance for over 25 years and is a celebrated national and international instructor and performer. Suzanna's soulful and artistic performances delight and engage diverse audiences worldwide. She was awarded "Choreographer of the Year" in 1998 and "Dancer of the Year" in 2001 by the International Academy of Middle Eastern Dance (IAMED).

Her eclectic style, a combination of American cabaret and Egyptian styling with "other dance fused in here and there", offers something for all persuasions of Middle Eastern dancers. All levels and styles of dancers will come away with new knowledge, perspectives, and skills after her classes and workshops.

Featuring performances by Daughters of the New Moon, Patshiva, and guest performer Suzanna Del Vecchio.  

Located at the Buoy Deck, in the Coast Guard Station (across Egan from the JACC).  Regular menu available.

Doors open at 6:30pm, show starts at 7pm.

Open dancing after the show.  Bring a hipscarf, bring a friend, or just bring yourself and a sense of fun!

~ Workshop Details ~

8 hours of instruction from world-famous Suzanna Del Vecchio!  Choose from classes featuring specific techniques and combinations or indulge in a full choreography to learn how Suzanna fits her technique and combinations with her musical interpretation of "I Cash Radii".

Saturday Workshops, October 2, 2010 
  • Slow and Sensual Combinations. 11am - 1pm.
  • Fast and Fabulous Combinations. 2pm - 4pm.  

Sunday Workshop, October 3, 2010 
  • Choreography: "I Cash Radii". 11am - 4pm (break 1-2pm). A full-length, usable choreography by Suzanna with a tribal fusion feel, suitable for beginning dancers but with additional technique variations for advanced dancers. (more information)

Registration limited to 35 participants, sign up early to ensure availablility.
Workshops are being held at JAHC's Juneau Arts and Culture Center.  Convenient to nearby hotels, restaurants and groceries, and the Buoy Deck Friday night show location.


Private lessons:  Monday & Tuesday, October 4 & 5, 2010. Private lessons are available to workshop participants only.  Payable to Suzanna Del Vecchio at the time of the lesson.  Her rates are $75 per hour for the first person, for additional persons add $10 per hour (i.e. $85 for 2 people,  or $42.50 each).  

Private lessons will be held at the North Street Studio.  Please contact Katyija by September 29 to schedule and assure availability.
