Finding belly dance at the age of 15, Bahaia enjoyed the freedom, creativity, and improvisational nature of the dance after years of study and performance of Scottish dance, sparking a life-long passion.
Bahaia’s style can be classified as Egyptian, with primary influences from Golden Era and Baladi. Over the years she has studied under many notable masters.
Bahaia is the owner of Austin Bellydance, teaching weekly classes and private lessons. She offers workshops throughout the United States, Jamaica, and Canada. As a teacher, coach and contest judge, Bahaia offers a discerning eye for talent and artistry, over 20 years of experience in the field of belly dance, and true passion to see dancers achieve their personal best.
With love and respect for Arab music and dance, Bahaia is a favorite with Arab audiences throughout Texas. Working with many talented musicians, she has produced her own CD “Ya Bahaia” with Samer Issa. Bahaia features in numerous performance and instructional productions.
